THE DAY I SAVED A DOG
The sky was overcast by dark clouds, it was cold and breezy. It did not dampen my spirit. I felt excited as I had just got my new PSP computer game and could not wait to play it. As I was walking home, a gentle drizzle started to fall from the sky. I thought to myself that it was going to rain soon so I hastened my steps.
On my way home, I decided to take a shortcut. When the rain got heavier, I was soaked to the skin. I raced forward, sprinting like an Olympic athlete across the path of the back alley. All of a sudden, I heard a squeaky bark a short distance away.
I had run past a small puppy and realized that it made the squeaky bark to get my
attention. It was a small Jack Russell. I saw that its leg was stuck between the rusty drain cover. I inched my hand to stroke its wet furry body and tried to comfort it. Slowly I pulled up the rusty drain cover to release the puppy.
There was some bloodstain on the drain cover and on its leg. I felt that it looked pitiful so I carried it up and patted on its wet head.
When I reached home, we were both soaked to the skin. Seeing the puppy, my mother got furious but she soon saw that the puppy was so cute and decided to let me keep it. I thanked my mother and went to take a shower. Surprisingly, my mother showered the puppy and dried it with a towel. I bandaged its injured leg with a cloth. Since then, it has brought us much joy.
